The Central Bank of Kuwait as a socially responsible financial institution
Commercial Bank of Kuwait has always strived to be a good citizen by being at the heart of social activities. The bank has a large footprint in community service, which was rooted in its corporate culture. For many years, the Bank has continued its efforts to support all social activities. Being the second oldest bank in Kuwait, the Central Bank of Kuwait assumes its prominent role as a socially responsible financial institution in Kuwait by employing all its resources and capabilities to support education, health, culture, entertainment and environment activities in Kuwait. This comes from the bank’s firm belief that corporate social responsibility effectively contributes to achieving sustainable growth for society.
These efforts were honored by the bank receiving the prestigious Social Responsibility Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as it was honored on the sidelines of the 33rd session of the Council of Labor Ministers and the Social Affairs Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held in Riyadh. The “HawwenAlihom” campaign, which was launched by the bank 5 years ago, was selected and named as a pioneering CSR project for the year 2016. This innovative campaign aims to help construction and road cleaner workers and distribute some gifts that suit their needs while they work under difficult weather conditions and to share with this segment their celebration of auspicious occasions and holidays to bring happiness to their hearts and put a smile on their faces. This reflects the bank’s belief in the key role of this segment in preserving the environment and maintaining its cleanliness.
The Communications Department sought to demonstrate and highlight the Bank’s unified efforts towards social responsibility through care, support, and participation in various social activities and various humanitarian and charitable events, which demonstrate the Bank’s focus on consolidating the comprehensive concept of social responsibility and its contribution to sustainable development, which reflects positively on all segments of society through social activities and events organized and sponsored by the Bank.
Commercial Bank of Kuwait always demonstrates its leadership in community activities as a prestigious financial institution that seeks to build successful partnerships with all civil society institutions and social work organizations. This comes from the bank’s belief in the importance of concerted efforts for sustainable development through proactive sponsorship of various community activities to serve all segments of society.
Based on this, the Corporate Communications Department continued its efforts to sponsor and support a number of sports, cultural, educational, awareness-raising activities and other events organized by social community institutions that aim to enhance cooperation between the bank and the community in which it operates, in addition to the bank’s sponsorship of activities targeting the segment of people with special needs.
The bank’s institutional communication departments also played a pivotal role in presenting many of the services and products that the bank provides to customers through coordination and follow-up to deliver these services and products to the bank’s customers and non-customers via print, audio and visual media, as well as various social networking sites.
The Corporate Communications Department also sought to carry out its usual role towards the bank’s employees by arranging awareness, health and marketing activities and events that aim to consolidate social ties between all employees as one family.
In conclusion, through the unified efforts of the Corporate Communications Department, the Bank will continue its journey to serve all segments of Kuwaiti society and its civil institutions by arranging and sponsoring programs, activities and events specifically dedicated to supporting the efforts made for sustainable development in Kuwait.
